Chicken with Plums by Marjane Satrapi is a poignant and darkly humorous graphic novel set in 1950s Iran. When talented tar player Nasser Ali Khan loses his beloved instrument, he loses his will to live. Through memories of love, regret, and unfulfilled dreams, Satrapi explores the fragility of happiness, the weight of disappointment, and the meaning of life. Blending surreal imagery with quiet irony, the story offers a moving reflection on art, heartbreak, and mortality.
